![]() ![]() It’s a great story so far, but it has made writing this and reading that story at the same time a whole lot harder. I am currently reading a book entitled the Alchemists Daughter, which is about a group woman who were all experimented on alchemically by their fathers. I find myself reminded of her constantly. More then anything else in the franchises entirety and that’s saying something. The story of Nina, for me, is one of the hardest parts of FMA to look at and it deeply scarred me. In this installment I’ll be covering the first chapter and the beginning of the 2 nd chapter in volume 2 of the manga, episode four of Brotherhood and episodes 6 and 7 of 2003. So, finally, after many, many rewrites, here is part two of my FMA comparison/analyses. I will make a few exceptions in order to cover material in the series 2003. I’ve decided to more or less follow the Manga’s events in order and branch out from there. The other reason is that I think I’ve finally found my footing in regards to the direction I’ll be taking when covering material. One of these is the subject matter, see that last word in the title? It’s a name, Nina, and if you don’t know who that is, then if you continue to read this you will soon find out. I do hope that you will manage to forgive me, for a couple reasons. Not even the worst of the worst villains.Oh, wow, it has a been a while since I posted the first part in my FMA comparison series. No other dead character in the series burns in hell on the Memoriam page. There’s a lot of fucked up shit in Fullmetal Alchemist but non so heinous as “Used his wife and then his toddler to create a horrifying dog creature just to maintain military funding.” He’s the most hated character in the series by characters, fans, and even Arakawa herself, who drew the “In Memoriam” page at the end of the volume to include Tucker burning in hell. That’s something you really have to watch the entire 2003 anime for.Īnyways the meme regarding Nina is that it’s tragic as fuck and extremely disturbing. There’s a lot going on with it and it’s kind of ridiculous. The 2003 anime adaptation really uh… fucks with this. ![]() That is the Tucker plot line for the manga and Brotherhood. The character Scar is introduced when he breaks in and murders Tucker out of rage, and kills Nina out of pity. The military is called in and takes both Tucker and Nina to a secure facility while he awaits trial for his crimes. Tucker claims he and Ed are basically the same for toying with human life, and Ed almost kills him. Tucker confirms Ed’s suspicions about Nina and Alexander being the Chimera in front of them, and they fight. Ed surmises that the timing of Shou Tucker’s first talking chimera and his wife “leaving them” is a little convenient, and asks where Nina and Alexander are. He introduces the chimera to the boys, and the chimera calls Ed “Mister Edward”. Finally the boys reach the lab, where Tucker is, and he proudly shows them the fruit of all his hard labor: a chimera that is capable of speech. One day Ed and Al return to Tucker’s home to find it empty, with Nina and Alexander nowhere in sight. Evaluation day is drawing near, and Tucker needs to show the results of his government funding. Nina is pretty lonely because her father just does lab work and experimentation all day long, so they befriend Nina and play with her and Alexander regularly during breaks from research. Alexander is a huge playful dog and Nina is a precocious child that calls Ed “Mister Edward”.Īs Tucker allows them to view his lab and use his library, Ed and Al learn that Tucker’s wife left them 2 years ago. When they arrive, they’re introduced to the family dog, Alexander, and Tucker’s 5 year old daughter, Nina. Ed and Al visit him because they want to pore over his research in hopes of finding a way to get their bodies back. Shou Tucker is a state alchemist who gained his license two years prior by producing a chimera that was able to speak human language, but it only ever said “I want to die.” It then refused to eat, and then died pretty much immediately. Here’s a rundown of the chapter plot (with panels!) This is a readmore but mobile is a bitch! so if you would like to go read/watch instead of reading this synopsis, here’s your warning to scroll for a bit! If you’d rather not watch or read thats fine, i will post the spoiler below the cut!Įven though you’re wrong because fma is quite genuinely one of the greatest stories ever told but you do you. i read on kissmang a but the kissnetwork is absolute trash so here’s a link to the page on mangapark ( link) Shou Tucker is introduced in chapter 5, in the anime he’s introduced in episode 4 ( 9anime dub) ( 9anime sub) It’s pretty early in the series so I would recommend reading or watching it. Its a reference to an early plot point in the manga (and anime) Fullmetal Alchemist regarding a man named Shou Tucker and his daughter Nina, as well as their dog Alexander. ![]()
